Climbing up the Wall
JA’s very own Rock Climbing Club is preparing in hopes of more than a spectacular climbing season this year.
From towering heights far off the ground to the clinking of carabiners, one specific JA club is gearing to climb off. JA’s very own Rock Climbing Club is preparing in hopes of more than a spectacular climbing season this year.
“I think it’s fun to move upon a vertical terrain that is incredibly challenging mentally and physically,” Mr Bilinsky exclaimed. “I think there’s a lot of problem solving as well as a lot of athletic ability and I really like it…It’s brought a lot of joy to my life.”
As the date approaches where the Climbing Club has their very first meet of the year, a numerous number of members are looking forward to this season. Many want to try their hardest and perform the best they can.
“I’ve been climbing all summer to prepare for this year,” shared Trevin Lee.
A huge aspect of Climbing Club is showing our JA spirit and trying our best, but an even bigger part of Climbing Club is the community that surrounds it.
“My friends are in it and I really enjoy it,” explained Carter Cook.
One thing everyone can agree on is that rock climbing has become more than just a fun sport. For many, it can make a difference in who they are as a person.
Mr. Bilinski noted: “I think it’s important for people to have positive outlets that can impact how they decide to spend their time, and rock climbing has been that for me for over 25 years. It’s a sport that has really influenced my life in a lot of ways.”
