Do people go shopping or take advantage of FAF (Fresh Air Friday)?
With the smell of turkey in the air and the warmth of the fire on cold hands, you can’t help but enjoy the holiday season.
The day after Thanksgiving, Colorado participates in a yearly tradition called Fresh Air Friday (FAF), in which residents are given free entry to all in-state parks. The biggest question is: Do people go shopping or take advantage of FAF?
Senior James Brenneman stated, “I didn’t know about this (FAF), but I think I will check out Rocky Mountain National Park because of this.”
FAF is not widely known, but after finding out, many people are now eager to make use of this benefit.
Senior Simon Christie remarked, “I will probably go to a state park because I think it’ll be pretty cool to go in for free.”
Even with this advantage, there are mixed opinions about taking the road to fresh air compared to fresh clothes.
Senior Grace Parsons shared, “I had no idea about this (FAF), but my family isn’t very outdoorsy, so we usually go shopping for Black Friday.”
Both Parsons and senior Cassie Davis, along with many other JA students, can agree on many stores they want to spend time at.
“I usually will go to Target and some stores in the mall!” agreed Parsons and Davis.
For some, it can be hard to choose between fab new clothes or adventures, so some choose both!
“This year I think I will go shopping and go to a park. It helps that Black Friday deals last for such a long time,” commented junior Ellie Arnold.
