While these lightsabers are just inflatable replications, there is plenty of buzz and noise about this year’s Senior Assassin. The seniors are working hard to not get caught without their colorful construction vests and keep their lavish lightsabers ready.

Though many students are excited about this year’s Senior Assassin, there are some conflicting feelings towards the outfits.

“The vests and lightsabers are a little bit inconvenient. The vests are an eyesore wherever I go and the lightsaber is a hassle to carry around and is fragile material,” senior Mckenna Adams shared. “Other than that though, [they’re] very cute ideas and it’ll be fun nonetheless.”

As a staff member who has been at JA for a while now, Mrs. Angie has experienced a lot of Senior Assassins and shared how she thinks the construction vests are too easy compared to prior years.

“Not too many people question why they are wearing them out and about, but with the water wings/floaties from last year, we had questions all the time,” Angie explained. “I think tutus, wings, or hula hoops would be funny!”

The bright vests can make you stick out like a sore thumb in public, but forgetting to wear yours will make you stick out even more to the seniors here at JA.

“Personally, I’m confident but I don’t know if I could go all the way,” Adams expressed. “I’m bound to slip up at one point, especially since I have a lot of time somewhere not at school.”

While this year’s senior assassin kicks off with bang, in previous years it has been a more brutal event.

“I’m not exactly sure what the rules are this year but from my point of view, it’s gonna go on forever. I believe that they have a lot of ‘safe’ places and ‘safe times’ that they can’t be tagged,” Ms. Angie predicted.

While Senior Assassin clothing may be debated between some, it’s a time to enjoy and will definitely be memorable for those watching, and those a part of it.

Adams exclaimed, “I’m looking forward to getting one of my friends and surprising them!”
