Lights, Camera, Action?

“We’re stressed and over-achievingly obsessed,” said Reese Linton.

Lights, Camera, Action?

Imagine you’re standing in line waiting for the big show to start, you’ve got your popcorn, and you're finding your seat. Now, sit back and relax and watch the movie that would be Jefferson Academy.

Students were asked questions to build a hypothetical movie that resembles the energy and spirit of Jefferson Academy.

Freshman Naomi Seiffertt shared, “If our school were a movie, it would be a documentary.” She then added, “There would be no actors or actresses, only students and faculty from our school.”

The idea of faculty being celebrity actors in our movie was shared.

Senior Tiffanny Bunce mentioned, “Our school would be a documentary. The school is very organized,” then added that actors who would play a prominent role would be Mrs. Angie and Mr. Cloonan.

Another student shared a different perspective, based off our hilarious teachers. “If our school were a movie, it would be a comedy,” said Senior Reese Linton. Adding to the great comedy, some celebrities today would be included. Linton described, “I think some of the younger actors/actresses would star in our movie, like Timothee Chalamet, Millie Bobby Brown, and all of those popular actors in shows and movies nowadays.”

With the fun actors in this comedy, there would also be a cool soundtrack.

“I think fun 80s music would play, like music from Guardians of the Galaxy, and also a mix of pop songs and rap songs today,” shared Linton.

The idea of a mix of songs was shared by another student.

Seiffertt said, “The soundtrack will probably be a mix of either classical old music or newer pop music, depending on who edits the movie.”

Students were also asked what part of the school would be featured in the movie. The locations on JA’s campus that would be featured as a scene in the movie varied among JA students.

Bunce exclaimed, “Definitely the senior parking spots! They all turned out so good!”

Other students explain that the places that students hang out the most should be shown in the movie.

“The main place that deserves to be in the movie would either be the art gallery or the commons since that is where most students hang out,” explained Seiffertt.

Others felt that the entire school would be a great place for a movie.

Linton remarked, “I think JA deserves to be a scene of a movie because we have a pretty average layout of a school, and I think it would be fun if our school were a setting for a movie.”

A line that describes the nature of students at JA would additionally be a crucial aspect to the film as well.

“We’re stressed and over-achievingly obsessed,” articulated Linton.

Sometimes all you need to know about a movie is in the title.

Bunce said, “If JA were a movie, the title would be ‘Welcome to the Jungle.’”

Other students relayed the academic rigor of the school in their title.

“The title would be ‘Extra Credit Chaos,’” shared Linton.

Linton’s title caught the academic requirements of Jefferson Academy while another student captured the school spirit in their title.

Seiffertt shared, “It would be titled ‘The Eyes Of A Jaguar.”
