Time Flies

There were times when things felt impossible, but there were times when I couldn’t wait for what was next.

Time Flies

They say the time will fly by, and now I understand why. As I sit and think about my time at Jefferson Academy, I am hit with a wave of feelings. There were times when things felt impossible, but there were times when I couldn’t wait for what was next.

Knowing that I will leave my best friends and we will all start the next chapter of our lives without each other is hard, but I am grateful to JA for giving me some of my best friends, and it’s hard to picture my life without them.

Thank you to the JA volleyball team for giving me the support system I have today and for teaching me much more than just the rules of the game. To the girls I surrounded myself with during practice, singing and dancing when we probably should have been focused on the drills. To the coaches who pushed me harder and harder each day — I learned so much from them.

Thank you to the track team for showing me that it’s not always easy, but with the right people, it’s worth it. It’s hard to imagine my high school experience without the track girls who supported and pushed me along the way. To Mr. Thimsen, who always saw the best in me and would never let me give up on myself, I couldn’t be more grateful. While I didn’t always like the sport, it allowed me to grow as a person.

To the JA newspaper, which I was reluctant to join in the first place — thank you for giving me the confidence to be a leader within the room and for challenging myself in new ways through designing the newspaper. Mr. Carwin, thank you for never letting me quit, even though I wanted to, and for pushing me to improve myself and the product.

Finally, thank you to my family for always supporting me, no matter what I want to do. I couldn’t have gone through school without your support!

JA was more than just an education — it has taught me many things, and I’m grateful for the community and memories it has given me. I can’t believe that I’m graduating and leaving my best friends and role models, but I am looking forward to college and the future. So with that being said, go Rams!
